On this page are some pictures of KLD 5 the "Joke" trials Allard built for A. G. Imhof to exploits a loophole in the regulations for the 1948 season. It has now lost both the supercharger which was originally attached to the engine and the extention to the rear of the body which helped it exploit the loophole. I was lucky enough to be offered a chance to drive her from Kingstanding, Birmingham, to Stoneleigh, Coventry, for a show over the weekend of the 19th - 22nd February 2004 and these pictures were taken on the Tuesday before when I went over to get to know her. She is, in fact, far from a "joke" and I loved every minute behind the wheel. My thanks to her current owner, Roger Ugalde, for the oportunity.
